Based out of Richmond, Virginia, we are a proud member of the FON Global Alliance. Our network of accredited valuation professionals spans six major domestic cities and fifteen international locations.

Having completed projects across a wide range of industry, our experience includes valuing assets ranging from $100,000 transportation fleets to billion dollar conglomerates – and everything in between. History
RK Valuation Advisory LLC was founded by Ryan Kinahan to fulfill valuation needs with personalized attention to client’s circumstances. Specializing in tangible fixed asset valuations, Ryan is a CPA certified through the Virginia Board of Accountancy and an Accredited Senior Appraiser designated by the American Society of Appraisers (ASA). He was elected to serve on the American Society of Appraisers – Board of Governors following his time as an elected officer of the Machinery and Technical Specialties Committee where he most recently served as Treasurer. Mr. Kinahan was a contributor and reviewer for the 4th edition book Valuing Machinery and Equipment: The Fundamentals of Appraising Machinery and Technical Assets published in 2020 by the American Society of Appraisers. He has served as an expert witness, provided courtroom / deposition testimony, and performed litigation consulting, including on behalf of a Fortune 100 company. He has led valuation assignments across 6 continents and 45 of the United States of America.
Mr. Kinahan began working in the valuation field for a major financial consulting firm based out of their New York City office. He was a member of their fixed asset team specializing in accounting valuations for SFAS 141 Purchase Price Allocations and SFAS 142 Impairment work (now ASC 805 / 350). Clients included Fortune 500 companies as well as privately held businesses and private equity firms.
While in New York he worked extensively in the Consumer Products, Industrial Products, Pharmaceutical, Medical Equipment, Media, and Telecommunication industries before branching out to lead valuation site visits in the chemical, petrochemicals, and mining sectors.
Following his time in New York, Ryan moved to Perth, Australia, where he began working for a privately held valuation and auctioneering company as part of their senior management team. With 20 full-time professionals, the position provided vast experience in the operations of a leading nationwide valuation and consulting company with a diverse range of service offerings. Among other industries, the Western Australian market involved in-depth projects in the mining, logistics, construction and petrochemical sectors. In addition to financial reporting engagements, Mr. Kinahan performed financing, dispute, ad valorem property tax, and insurance valuations in Australia.
Ryan passionately travels for work and leisure. Recognizing the inherent interconnected nature of the modern world, he embraces the working relationships between the US, greater Americas, and world at large. He studied abroad at a leading South American Business School: Universidad Del Pacifico. Ryan speaks Spanish with full professional proficiency and is conversational in Portuguese. He has led valuations throughout the Spanish speaking world. In addition to an extensive domestic network, Ryan has contacts and agents throughout Oceania and Southeast Asia having spent two and a half years performing valuations across the region. He has given speeches and presented at events for the ASA, Federation of Tax Administrators (FTA), Association of International Certified Professional Accountants (AICPA), National Association of Certified Valuators and Analysts (NACVA), The Risk and Insurance Management Society, Inc. (RIMS), and to a body of Spanish speaking valuation professionals.
